My XBOX 360 has a Samsung TS-H943 ms28 drive. I did not mod my console, but SOMETIMES my LEGIT games get detected as a DVD instead of a XBOX 360 game. I usually resolve this by ejecting and reinserting the game. Sometimes a restart is required, but usually one or the other method gets the game to run. I am wondering though, is my drive going bad? I have already attempted cleaning the lens using a lens cleaner. What do you guys think the issue is?

You're in the right forum.

Your drive may be going bad or may just be dirty. Drives go out pretty often, though.

I would recommend taking the DVD drive out of the case and opening it up. Then use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to clean the laser lens itself.

If that doesn't work, you probably need to do a so-called "pot tweak". You basically use a multimeter to measure the resistance applied to the current that leads to the laser, then lower the resistance a teensy bit at a time to increase the power of the laser. There are lots of tutorial out there about it. Make sure you find the tutorial for a Samsung drive, since the process works a little bit differently for this drive than for certain others, such as BenQ/Lite-On, I believe.
