After decryping a movie with "DVD Decrypter" in the "ISO" mode I close the program.

I then open up "DVD Shrink" and click on "Open Files". The file is not there.

I have also tried using "DVD Decrypter" in the "IFO" mode. When I open up "DVD Shrink" and click on "Open Files" the file is there, but "DVD Shrink" cannot find it.

I know these two programs are great. I am just having trouble getting the decrypted file over to "DVD Shrink."

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank You!

You use DVDshrink to decrypt and shrink. Then burn automatically with DVDdecrypter. This has not failed once in 300 movies.

DVDdecrypter can decrypt in file mode if you wish to do it that way but is not 100% reliable.

Hi there Muchohomb, Welcome to the Club,

Let's just6 do one at a time, OK ?

Before I start, I create a folder on my Desktop (i.e. All DVD Work) in that, I create a sub-folder with my movie?s name on it (i.e. All DVD Work/Pirates of the Caribbean) that?s where I put my work, where I can always find it later.

There shouldn?t have been a reason to rip your DVD with DVD Decrypter as DVD Shrink is fully capable of ripping most DVD?s by itself. In the rare case that you had to resort to DVD Decrypter to rip your DVD, ripping it in the ?ISO? mode is fine. When you want DVD Shrink to pick up that ISO file, go to the tool bar, ?File? then ?Open disc image? and follow your browser to that folder I had you make back at the beginning. DVDShrink will pick it your ISO image then you may continue processing.

You mentioned ripping it in the ?IFO? mode, let?s not do that any more, OK ? If you want something different than "ISO", rip it in the ?File? mode, then you?ll IFO, BUP and VOB files, excellent for DVD Shrink to pick up.

Once again, the key is to make a folder to do all your work in then everything will fall in place and you won?t be looking for your ?lost? files -

Cheers,

Pete

Pete's spot on, for convenience i would suggest usinf IFO 1 file mode for ripping discs with decrypter in the instances that DVD Shrink will not rip...

Thank you "ScubaPete" and to the others who answered my post!

I understand "DVD Shrink" has a very good decrypter built in. I must not be using "DVD Shrink" properly because I always get a "Copy Protection" and "I/O Device" error. Here are the steps I use to copy a movie using "DVD Shrink."

After inserting the DVD into my DVD drive I open "DVD Shrink."

I then open the drive which has the DVD movie in it.

"DVD Shrink" does a quick analysis.

I click on "Re-author " and then drag the main movie over to the "DVD Structure" side.

I then click on "Compression Settings" and eliminate "Audios" and "Subpictures" until I get a good compression number.

I then click on "Backup."

Somewhere during the "Encoding" process I always seem to get a window which states:

"DVD Shrink has encountered an error and cannot continue." "Copy Protection Error." "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error."

During the "Encoding" process there is some kind of decryption code in the window.

As I stated in my first post I am new to this and really thankful to those of you out there taking the time to help me!

There are a couple of cute little programs out there that will help you with the copy protection thing:

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/anydvd.cfm

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd43.cfm

The handsome Mr ScubaPete suggested DVD43 in a post to someone, somewhere in these forums and so believing him (and herbsman of course) to be the god of dvd knowledge I thought I'd give it a try and it has been working wonderfully well.

Kat, I'm soooo sorry, so very sorry that I overlooked Welcoming you into our happy fold -

Bad ScubaPete, Bad ScubaPete, go to bed without your Finny Fish dinner !

Of course you're welcome here, and for our oversight, we'd like to ask you to join us over there behind the "Potted Palm" at the water cooler - just the "Kool ones" hang there and you, the love of my life, are invited to join us there -

Our friendly Mod (herbsman) is there and that super-sweet bare grogey bear (from down under) stops by (ask her about the ?Penthouse? room she had set aside for me for visits) and as long as we have some chilled Vino for Chris, he?s a down-right Party animal when he?s not collecting souls and the jokes fly and as long as the ?cooler? doesn?t empty (lol)

See that, and you thought you weren?t welcomed - (silly goose)

?P?

Hi everyone,
I'm new and I'm having some trouble burning. I have a Liteone dvd burner. I had to reinstall my operating system and the burner won't burn dvd. I get an error message when using copy to dvd and shrink dvd is reeally slow. So i was reading that i should use DVD Decrypter because the DVD Shrink could be slow because its encrypted.

What do i do? Decrypt then shrink and then burn. Or am i totally lost. I have no clue. Please help.

Thanks

(I suggest that first, you read the Forum Rules, it will help keep you out of
