What does it mean to spoof an xbox 360 drive?

If you have the key for your drive then you can "spoof" other drives to make it act like the original drive, regardless of brand (so a benq can act like a samsung, etc). It isnt safe for xbox live though and doesnt work on iXtreme LT at all.

Why would you want your drive acting like another? If you do this can you swap drive from one xbox to another?

yes that's right. If you happen to have one laying around (old rrod system perhaps) then you can put it in your working system. People like some brands more than others for perceived durability of the laser, etc. I prefer benq personally for ease of modding and they've always seemed to hold up well.

I have a hitachi that i want to run in an xbox 360 that had a samsung. I have the original firmware of the samsung. So i have the key that i need to spoof. I just need some help spoofing with jungleflasher. The hitachi that i want to run in the xbox that has a samsung has already been flashed with the latest ixtreme firmware. How do i spoof my hitachi drive to run as a samsung drive? thanks.
