I have just flashed a samsung ms28 with ixtreme 1.6 but now i'm having problems copying games. I can't seem to get xbox backup creator or windows xp media centre edition to recognise the drive. Any suggestions?

try using the 0800 firmware for the drive. I know 1.6 has 0800 built in but I never had much luck with it either. Also if you disabled your via drivers to flash the drive you'll have to re-enable them.

But how am i going to play the games then? I haven't disabled any drivers no. Maybe point me in the direction of a half open tray tutorial?

c'mon its not that hard!
flash with 0800 to rip games then flash back to 1.6 to play games.
if your going to rip alot of games buy another drive to leave connected to your pc.

I have lost all and any respect i had for this site!

Its not that hard you're right. But i don't wanna be opening my xbox up everytime i get a game i wanna copy. And how do i flash to 0800 firmware when i can't get the drive back into vendor mode anyway? Best bet is probably to buy a new drive and flash it with kreon firmware.

If you dont open it every time then how will you connect the drive to your PC? It's not hard to get it back into vendor mode after you've flashed, just use the vendor intro button. Also kreon drives do not create backups that are safe for live
