1. If the drive is showing in the Bios but not through jungleflasher or even Device Manager, should I just get a Via 6421a card?
My mobo is a nvidia P5N32-E so it's probably an nforce satachipset.
2. My 360 dashboard is pre-8000. That means it's jtaggable right, any clear advantages besides running homebrew?
My soldering might be rusty by now but if there are many benefits to jtagging, I might try it.
3. If I just keep this 360 offline, can it become autobanned/bricked?
4. Do 360 games need updated firmwares to play like the PS3/PSP?

Thanks to anyone willing to read.
1) yes... get a via card. the same thing happened with my mobo that i bought earlier this year. couldn't get my benq to show up through the onboard sata ports so i bought a sata card and worked like a charm.
2) jtag lets you install dlc, xbl games and play games from your harddrive. there's probably more but i don't know too much about the jtag scene.
3) no online = no ban
4) the way the game checks for updates is by connecting to xbl. if you don't connect to xbl then you won't need the update. shouldn't be a problem for the most part although some updates fix tearing, lsow down and other annoyances.
1. Not sure on this one because I already had a 6421a card but I know you have to disable the via drivers to get JF to work so you probably have to do the same with the nvidia drivers: disable it, find the file in your system32\drivers folder, rename it to .bak then re-enable the driver. Should be a yellow exclamation mark. Reboot and JF should see it. If that doesnt work they're like $13 at newegg
2. You can also run the games directly off the HD without disc or even your own external USB HD (or upgrade the stock HD with non-MS drive for more speed).
3. If you NEVER connect it to the internet (which you definitely shouldnt if you jtag) then you wont be banned. If you play non-safe pirated games and connect to live later you may be banned. Otherwise MS has no way to ban you unless you go online
4. The games do have updates for various things but they're not necessary to play them. If you can find the updates online then they can be applied
