AFAIK, Its recommended to flash back to stock > update > then flash LT. I personally wouldn't bother each time myself.

I'm assuming thtat the game is "Army of two" wave 6.

I was reading the Ixtreme forum and a guy did a system update with LT installed and it cause all sort of probleme for him, is games wouldn't load anymore everything said "play DVD" he then try flashing back and fourth with different version of Ixtreme with no luck!

So I will for sure go back to stock before doing a system update, and I suggest you do the same!!!

You can do game updates with LT installed with no problem, not
system update. C4E and teamjungle did not give us that info for no reason!

Good luck.

Would the return to stock procedure apply for people who don't go on XBL as well ?

Yes, I wouldn't take any chances, I think that the update process looks at your firmware before applying the upgrade!

I'm not 100% sure on that but why would C4e and teamjungle give us this warning in the LT readme....

Quote..

###### WARNING ######

Warning! Ensure all disc images are checked with abgx as LT assumes all stealth/ss/pfi/dmi is correct. Disc images must also be splitvid and preferred SS v2

Warning! Lt will not save you from being banned if console is already flagged by using a previous firmware or non-stealth discs

It is also advisable to apply all system updates before flashing with LT. All future console system updates (not game updates) must be applied with caution

Well then for all those who don't use XBL switching to a spoffed BENQ would be beneficial

Wow. Really?

Can anyone confirm this? Flashing LT onto a drive and then applying a system update will potentially brick it?

If this is the case, so much for my notion of the "last flash ever needed for banned Lite-Ons".

What I find confusing, however, is why Lite-On would act any differently than any other firmware. How is LT going to make the system brick from a system update but not other firmwares?

$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

It's real easy to returm to stock just the bother of opening the case and putting it back together is harder that reflashing. Like Qwert said it would be strange if this applies to Lite-Ons only could it be that its different FW the the old iX and once BENQ SAM & HIT LTs are released system updates will have the same effect. I just wouldn't think MS would brick systems though that's taking it to a whole new level if people were complaining about briked HDs I can't wait for the bricked console threads lol

I cant see it bricking the drive, think its just for banning reasons.

After reading that thread, I'm not convinced that the OP wasn't just a dumbass. He provided no details and didn't even know the basics of flashing a drive. I'm going to assume that he had an isolated issue, and this is not a larger problem.

I sort of figured that's how it would be, but when somebody says LT+sysupdate can brick a system, I pay attention.

Yes, he might be a dumbass, but still i'm not going to take any chances I will go back to stock firmware before updating! Why go looking for trouble. it only takes 5 minutes to do anyways.
