I recently started using xbmc for my vast media library and noticed that it will not play .ogm files very well. I was wandering if there was a way to convert them to another file type and keep the multiple audio and subtitle streams? I found your guide on converting to a.avi but it didn't talk about keeping the multiple audio tracks and keeping the multiple subtitles. If this needs to be posted else where or you can direct me to a link that references this already that would be a great help.

thanks for your time

Try HandBrake, should be able to convert to an MP4/MKV with multiple audio and subtitle tracks.

Here's something about subtitles.

http://trac.handbrake.fr/wiki/Subtitles

You might have to demux the subtitles from the ogm first.

There are different ways you can accomplish your task. Depending on what you have in that ogm file, you could also demux/extract the audio/subs and video, use whatever software to re-encode the video(probably that's what gives you playback issues), then remux everything back together.
