problem flashing benq as hitachi

I recently bought a new 360, I had a old hitachi model that i spoofed a benq to work in it. Now i have 2 benq's and i have flashed them no problem in the past. so i took the drive out and unlocked read and put ix1.61 on it let jungle do its thing and reflashed now it just says reading and wont work, I tried putting firmware on it before 1.61 and it still says reading. I have tried the other benq and same thing. I have a via card and XP, i have to leave drivers for via enabled or else jungle wont find it its worked well in past. to unlock i do the tray half open trick do I have to close tray before i flash?. I cant quit figure out whats wrong I haven't changed my computer at all as its dedicated for flashing and burning. Any ideas out there?

Please be more specific. "It just says reading". What does that mean? That's the message in Jungle Flasher? In Windows? On the 360 itself?

Did you try using Dosflash 16?

Yeah I just tried dos flash with a file made by jungle flasher same thing the Xbox just says reading. tried on both benqs sometings screwy here the orignal firmware that worked spoofed as hitachi wont even work now the xbox just says reading on it. WTF???

Did you try using Dosflash 16?

Screw it Im selling em on ebay and buying a new arcade on the way home from work and flash that. benq are dead to me.
