Team Xecuter xDrive 360 ? Black Edition

Now that the "ban war" has heated up, the idea of an external DVD drive for the 360 is honestly pretty appealing. $70 before international shipping does seem a little steep, though. I wonder if it wouldn't be possible to build your own using some sort of Y SATA cable going to both DVD drives and a switch for selecting which drive gets powered. That might be cheaper, and definitely would be more fun. :)
$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

I remember seeing a tut on doing that as an alternative to the blaster 360. I had an idea way before the xDrive to use the blaster style external sata port to hook up an external drive. I will post the thread and tut if I can find it (it was over half a year ago).

It isn't a drive it is an external case for an extra xbox drive. Can be used for either your ripping drive or a modded drive if you want to keep the one in your 360 stock.

Techsick told me they would let me know when they had stock. That was back in early December. I get the feeling xecuter isn't looking after them the way they should....

I can't find any sites selling the xdrive, even modchips.ca doesn't have them listed. Techsick has the white xdrive on it site, but they are out of stock. I think Xecuter Australia closed due to disputes with Xecuter.

They never had the stock, I emailed them 2 or 3 times since xecuter started shipping to resellers and they can't even tell me what they will be selling it for once they get it.
Any non-Aussie friends know any resellers who have stock and ship international?
