How do I go about doing this? I tried bannerbomb and indianapwns(figured what the hell its worth a try) the Wii freezes when I pull up the SD menu.
Thought maybe I would try the twilight hack but I don't own an original copy of the game.
What are my options? I have a Wii on 4.2u already and I can't do much with it(got hbc installed and now it freezes when I try to load any hbc apps), I would like to avoid updating to 4.2u. Can I find a game that would include an update to say 4.0 or 4.1? Any ideas? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Your 4.2 wii that crashes when trying to load homebrew, have you tried other SD cards in it or just the one? And what is the format of the SD? It should be FAT32 and if you're having trouble with it then try reformatting it with the panasonic SD formatter.
There should be no issues with homebrew on a 4.2 wii anymore.

The SD are Wii SD they're compatible. I have three 2GB SD cards have tried two of them with the same result.
I tried installing some .wads and was able to install CIOS38_rev15, but only that .wad. The others give me either -1035 or -2011. I've tried everything I can think of.
I read a guide saying that I could use WAD Manager to uninstall my IOS249. Then install CIOS38_rev14or15 I tried this and was able to bring some HBC apps up, Dop IOS and a few others, but most freeze(especially if I try anything with IOS249) and others give me either -1035 or -2011. I'm clueless.
Any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try following the 4.2 firmware softmod guide in my sig. When you run the HBC/Bootmii installer choose to uninstall HBC then reinstall it and Bootmii as well. After that finish the rest of the guide. If you follow everything in the guide you should not have issues. If you do then it is more then likely a SD card compatibility issue.

Formatted the SD into FAT32 and was able to downgrade IOS 15, Patch IOS36 and Restor IOS15. I then tried to install IOS38_rev14 and still get a ret =-1035 error. Which IOS should I be installing this to? When trying to install wads or anything else for that matter I get this error. Regardless of which IOS I try to install them to. I formatted the SD again and ran through all the downgrade/restore steps to be sure I hadn't messed up. Still get the errors. I'm not sure why.
Should I try Pimp My Wii? I've heard people have had success with this...

Did you follow the Any Title Deleter section?
You can't do DOWNGRADE IOS15, PATCH IOS36 and RESTORE IOS15 then go directly to installing the cIOS38_rev14 section. You need to do the Any Title Deleter section first.
After doing the Any Title Deleter section you can then try installing cIOS38_rev14 (choose IOS36 when it ask what IOS to use).
This is all covered in the guide.
Follow the 4.2 firmware guide in my sig WORD FOR WORD!

Nah, I haven't tried the any title deleter. I'm so used to softmodding 4.1 and below that I figured the guides couldn't be that much different. Thanks for all your help Larry, I'll run these steps WORD FOR WORD from your guide, lol.
Thanks again, I'd be lost without this website.

That is what ticks me off.
I make a guide for you and others to follow and some of you only feel the need to do bits and pieces of it. Then when it doesn't work I and others spend hours/days trying to help you figure out whats going wrong. Then in the end it is because you didn't follow the guide word for word.
Would the step be in the guide if you didn't have to be done?

Whatever man, chill out. It's a forum, I'm required to ask a stupid question or two.
Like I said, I'm used to 4.1 and below. This is my first 4.2u. Sorry for my lack of intelligence in the Wii Scene. Please slap my wrists the required number of times.

I am glad you see how stupid it was that you didn't read the guide word for word.

Yeah.
Honestly though, thanks for all your help, Larry. You didn't have to reply to my stupid question but did anyway. I and I'm sure many others appreciate the hard work and time you put into helping us all out.
Thanks again.
