I haven't used my wii in a while and when I went back to play some of my old games on burned disks (house of the dead: overkill, muramasa, etc) a disk read error pops up. But there's no problem reading the retail disks.

I've been using Neogamma R6 Rev7 since it came out and didn't have a problem with it until now.

I've updated it to 4.1u but i never figured out how to reinstall the homebrew channel. I've still got access to the Wad manager 1.3 though.

Would this be solved by doing the update to 4.2 and possibly updating the neogamma to R7?

It seems to me that you no longer have a custom IOS (IOS249) installed since you updated to 4.1. You can choose to remain on firmware 4.1 or update to 4.2. In any case, you can use one of larry's tutorials found in the Ultimate Sticky Thread.

How are you running the WAD Manager? No, there isn't a WAD for HBC. You need the Hackmii installer to reinstall HBC.

I'm running the WAD Manager through the Channels which bypasses the HBC. It was something that was there when i softmodded it when it was still on the 3.2 firmware.

Do you mean Preloader? Also, did you install 4.1 using the official Nintendo update?

That's odd. Preloader usually gets wiped out everytime an official firmware update is installed. Anyway, you are going to need to re-accomplish the softmod if you want to play backups again. Follow larry's guide. It can be found in the sticky thread.
