Lost Hitachi key and firmware

I flashed a friend's Xbox months ago and had the key and original firmware on my pc. My idiot brother-in-law just destroyed my pc with a virus and I will end up losing it all. How would I go about updating his Xbox with newer firmware without it or obtaining firmware and key for it? I flashed it with Jungleflasher and I believe it was a Hitachi 79. Thanks.

You can do a read of the firmware and the key will still be in his drive. As long as his drive is not dead, his key is safe and sound on there. the key never changes, regardless of firmware.

I think you are ok, follow this tutorial to return to stock, jungleflasher will read the current firmware and retreive the key.
