Hi, i have just been asked to fix a friends xbox who's laser has gone or at least thats the only thing i can see it being. I have flashed and spoofed plenty of drives. My question is if i buy a new benq or lite-on and spoof it with his key but only put original firmware back on the drive will i get banned as he dosent wanted it modding just fixing. Will it get seen as modded if i spoof a benq with original lite-on firmware will it get caught. I know no one can give me a definite answer but thoughts would be cool.

Well spoofing is said to be an easy way to get banned. If it's just the laser you can get a laser for under $20 shipped to your door which is cheaper than a whole drive.

well im not sure if its just the laser because the drive is sticking aswel when i try to eject, do you reken its still pretty certain to get blocked if i use a benq to change the benq.
