burning ios problem help!!!

hi there iam very new to this wii stuff last week i managed to softmod my wii after reading through lots off how to guides finally got there borrowed some games (copied) and they worked so i downloaded one from the internet burnt ios to disk game (imageburner)worked fine, tried three more games with imageburner kept saying writing lead and getting stuck so changed disks (philips)done the same, changed image burner and that says not valid ios file, even the first one that i tried that worked now says not valid ios file the dvd burner is a external freecom, i cant see why it work the first time and not any more i have tried to find a solution but to no avail please some one help
