It's back up, but there's no noticeable changes.

Damn.... I was hoping ABGX would update to account for SSv2. No such luck, eh?

Yeah, I know. I meant to change the ABGX database so that the ABGX program would know to look for a difference. That would be lots easier than manually scanning a log to check and see if an ISO has proper SS, then get the new one and patch it in if it doesn't.

Actually, I just noticed one change. In the verified database there is now a column for Title ID, although I'm not sure what use that information is.

If the DB server would just outright reject any new release game being uploaded without SS v2, I don't think much would really need to change. Just the actual upload process would need to change, not even the database or the program itself. That's all it would take. I really wish they would just do it already, or at least address the issue in some way. It really hurts the credibility of the program, in my eyes.

I wonder if that is one of those fields that has always been in the DB, but they are just showing it on the web site now? Seems like a unique identifier, but as long as you have a numbered list, why bother?

It only makes sense for it to require a new program. This would be for people with SSv1 rips nad Kreon drives to be able to run their iso through abgx. Right now, it will pass with SSv1, and won't update your ssv bin to a newer SSV2 bin, so you have to do it yourself. I'm sure that's what they are working on right now..

Yes, updating the executable file is one way to go, but my point is that the ABGX team wouldn't even need to do that. If they just did not allow new games to be uploaded with SSv1, the whole issue would be moot anyway. Then the program wouldn't even need to distinguish between SSv1 or SSv2, since only SSv2 would be available for new games. This would make more sense from a bandwidth perspective as well, since only the legit files would need to be transferred over the internet.

I agree it's what I imagine they're working on. Then again, it's what I've imagined they have been working on since October, and so far no dice.

Hmm, abgx seems to be down right now. Hopefully the downtime is not too long, I just got a whole bunch of new games. Good thing I finished burning the new Final Fantasy.
