Hi, I am somewhat of a noob when it comes to the whole modding process, and am having some difficulty.
I installed my wiikey 2 yesterday (on a wii clip) and it lit up and everything.
I am trying to load the boot disk for the wiikey, but I keep getting the error that the disk is unable to be read, and to check the manual.
I have tried burning the disk several times, on magic iso, and imgburn at 4x, with both Sony 16x dvd-R and TDK 16x dvd+R. I get the same error with both disks.

The wii is reading official wii games just fine, and everything else is working (like the internet channel)

Could anyone help me out?
Thanks!

Wow, a wiiclip. Haven't seen one of them in ages. Anyway, a couple things to check:

1) Firmware of the wii and region of the games. If the wii is on 4.2 then it will not read out of region game backups without homebrew help.

2) Are you sure the wiiclip is seated properly? It needs to be pressed all the way down and be exactly in line with the chip it's fitting over.

3) What is the chipset of the wii? Wiikey2's don't work on all chipsets, and the newest chipsets will not read burned disks no matter what modchip you're using. The only way to mod those wii's is to softmod them with a USB loader.

Below is some troubleshooting info for Wiikey 2/Wii Clip....

Troubleshooting:

?Problem: LEDs on chip don't turn on or flash on for just a second. Games from own region work but imports or backups don't.

?Solution: The solderless chip is not pushed on hard enough. Push it down hard and evenly.

?Problem: LEDs on chip don't turn on or flash on for just a second. No games work.

?Solution: One of the pins on the wii-clip has been bent. Straighten any bent pins with any small, pointed object.

?Problem: LEDs are on. Games from own region work but imports or backups don't.

?Solution: The chip is working. The problem is with the dvds that are being used.

?Problem: LEDs are on. No games work.

?Solution: The chip is working, but you have set it to the wrong region. Download the correct config/utility disc for your region.

But also as penguin98 stated if you have the new D3-2 drive then no matter what you do the backup disc will not work. You will need to use a USB loader.
