Yes, I noticed that too.
The port has been closed, but the servers still exist.
The website is still there, but they removed their index page, index.htm(l)?
Looks like they've doing a runner :(

Be aware, satcardsharing is an illegal site. If you were involved with them be worried. If they have been caught by legal enforcement folks then be aware that anyone using this service has their IP on their servers. I would seriously consider changing ISP very quickly and hope this helps. These people are pirates and anyone using such services are breaking the law. There is a huge difference between discussing sharing a legal subsription at home (where legislation is muddy) and using illegal card servers. All discussion of these illegal services on this site should be banned and anyone who uses them deserves what they will soon get

Maybe they are ?
Whatever you say, say nothing when you talk about you know what for if you know who might hear you, you know what youll get. Youll be sent off to you know where for you would not know how long. Maybe I could search through the threads so you dont have to ??

Each to their own. I don't and have never used them but to say 'ban' people cos they choose to go down that specific route to get so called 'free tv' is a bit drastic in my opinion. This whole section of the site is 'murky' as you would call it mate.

i'm not asking to ban, i just say ignore. ye guys have been on this forum a lot longer than me. what i suggest is that we help people who are beginners and wish to learn how to program boxes. I simply believe we should not support crooks by providing links to their sites

I don't and have never used them *or any other* either, but as far as I can see their website is still there, so maybe the people that are worried about them being gone dont actually have to worry as much as they thought they would have to worry.
I know there was a thread highlighting the legal in and outs of sharing but I cant find it now, my search button must be broken!!

Absolutely, they are crooks and I would never give them or any other a penny but people will learn after they have been bitten. We can only tell them the risks.

i would like to be able to give them the option to be educated on how to use boxes. it means that the junior members don't get their ass kicked and also they get to learn what i think is a great game. Its my hobby, but from an IT point of view I probably know more about Linux than I do about Windows. And I welcome that. I love playing with multiple dreambox versions and seeing what are the good sides and the bad sides. Their is a load of experience out their, Mickah, E45, MGB, Piopat, Raroot. All I ask is we respond to posts in a consistent fashion. If someone wants to learn, then we help, if someone wants a cheap fix, then we ignore

Mooley, it gives me a kick to help people and to learn from people. But please look at what i said 'If someone wants to learn, then we help, if someone wants a cheap fix, then we ignore'. My impression of this forum is that it should be to advise junior members on how to use boxes but I really feel the moderators should delete this public card sharing stuff off the forum. It is illegal and these guys are simply too lazy to find out about something that brings a bit of fun and enjoyment to others.

But it is illegal to connect a FTA cable box with an emulator to unscramble channels to an official cable suppliers connection isn't it?

He's a hypocritical festering little turd this one.
Wishing death on people for paying a card server what a tool.
Me personally wouldn't give them cs servers my money but I wouldn't wish death on people who choose to do like this clown has.

fair point, too agressive. just really dislike those that are unwilling to learn. this forum should not be about cheap scams and how to benefit from them. thats my point

fintannl,
since when did ignoring a problem make it go away?
Let's face it - this is not too dissimilar to Napster/IRC in the 90's, or PirateBay in the 00's, and newsgroups today. Sure, its a different technology, but the principals are the same - ripping off content. And we all know that millions of people did/do download illegal music and videos, and software everyday. I'm not trying to justify it, but whether you like it or not this is part of society and allowed technology to develop in different directions.
If a specific city has a drug problem then the way to solve that is within the community - education of the youth. Ignoring the issue would create a new generation of drug users. Its no different with online communities and online illegal activities. Its not just going to dissapear if you turn a blind eye and block/delete/ignore etc - as we've seen its growing rapidly.
As you've mentioned helping people, then why not help those who are lost, rather than just those who know the way but are unable to rtfm?
I don't see this thread as advertising crooked sites. If anything, its discouraging others to follow, which is the way it should be.

gents, i take your point. i continue to answer PMs showing users how to do basic functions on a dreambox which i truly believe this forum should be about. its a hobby where people learn stuff and get rewards for their efforts. I resent that any effort should be made to publizise these pirate sites. Its a hobby and a learning process not a cheap solution waiting to be offered.
I take the Napster argument but Napster was a simple download solution. To program these boxes to do things is not a simple download.
So my version of things, be it right or wrong, is to help people who are willing to learn for the fun of it and turn away people who just want a solution that is likely to end them up in jail
I do apologise if I went over the top but I find card sharing sites to be the cheapest of the cheapest solution

good point
Despite my comments I'm actually a Linux enthusiast myself - both as a profession and personal hobby.
I guess after many years of working with those who only have time for Windows I have learnt to see their point of view. I agree with your principles though.
