I've tried to crystalize all the posts and cross posts I've read of late. I'm not too proud to admit that I don't know for sure which computer to buy that will support dvd shrink, nero and decrypter. I realize that we all learn the hard way to a certain extent but I sure would like to get my hands on a "turnkey" system. I'd like to buy a computer which after the above mentioned downloads enables me to copy dvds. Has any configuration/model been mentioned previously? I've got my eye on a Dell Dimension 8300- 512 MB DDR 400 MHZ, DVD Drive, 80 GB EIDE HD.
Thanks and hope I'm not being too tedious.

Basically go for one with a quick processor and another memory to store your backed up dvd files and run the machine at the same time.

My mates backing up DVD's (albeit slowly) off a 486 and a 30gig hard drive!!

Thanks to all for taking the time to make suggestions. I really appreciate them and have decided to buy a basic Dell.
