I have my 360 hooked up to my motherboard currently, while in the BIOS and during bootup I clearly see the 360's drive listed as IDE Master Channel 7. In Windows XP 32-bit though it's undetected in the JF program. With "Include non-IDE Ports" checked, there are 9 I/O Ports to choose from in the DVDKey 32 tab. 8 of them say No Drive Detected, 0xBCE0 however causes my computer to completely lock up. I do not have a VIA card in my computer nor the drivers, but everytime it locks up.
My motherboard, Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3, has two sets of SATA controllers I believe. One is Intel, the other is Marvell. I've tried both with no luck, though on the Intel controller I have 3 hard drives setup in a RAID array. I believe I read that RAID can mess with JF's ability to detect the drive, which is why I then switched to the Marvell controller. I cannot get rid of RAID on the Intel controller without reinstalling Windows again.
I'm very new to flashing, this is my first attempt. Does this simply mean both my Intel/Marvell controllers are incompatible with JungleFlasher and the 360? I had hopes this would work since the drive is very clearly detected in BIOS and boot up.
Any pearls of wisdom would be greatly appreciated, I looked through the JF pdf tutorial along with some on this site and I have no explanation for why it's not detecting.
I think you've answered your own question i.e the raid array i believe is a no no and the use of a Via card is known to be a given really unless someone has already id'd your chipset as compatitble.
So can't you disable RAID in your bios and see if that helps or failing that beg / borrow a via sata card if you can with the 6421 chipset.
well looking at the features of that card it has the correct via6421 chipset. As for the question about the raid setup.... tbh i'm not sure as raid isn't something i've played with before. Have you ever disconnected your drives so that it just has the HDD with the OS on it functioning? That may then disable the RAID issue and allow you to try the intel chipset before laying out $20 for the pci card. You will have to make sure that JF is installed on the same HDD as your OS lol and not one of the ones you've taken offline.
I run my drives in a RAID 0 configuration, which means if one drive is disconnected, dies, etc, then all the data is gone. If I really really need to I'll install this all on another computer in my house.

I had the same problem thinkin just cause my motherboard was new & had 4 internal sata ports that it would work w/o the via chipset. My PC was able to read the drive but it alwayz locked up so I just order a $2 VIA 6421 pci card brand new from ebay and everything went well.
