Maybe banned flashed to LT?

I've been trying to decide which way I should go:
I got a 7 series liteon flashed 1.61 that was disconnected from Live during the ban wave. So it might be banned or it might not.
I got a new 8v2 series liteon that's been used for online play only. It's not flashed so only OG games.
I was originally going to flash the 8v2 series to LT for online and leave the 7 series 1.61 for offline play only. But I'm starting to wonder........
Should I try upgrading the 7 series to LT, write protect the nada and put it online to see if it's been banned before touching the 8v2 series? I've been dying to find out if the 7 series is banned, but at the same time i don't want it to be crippled. So I wanted to see if anyone had luck write protecting the nada to see if it's been banned or what was every ones thoughts were.

The 7 series Lite-On is in all likelihood banned. The vast majority of online 360s were banned in that last wave, and only a few straggling, seemingly random, 360s made it out alive.
If I were you, I would just flash the 8 series Lite-On with LT and give it a go. Just be absolutely sure that all games you play on the LT, besides being stealthed, have SSv2, as I am personally convinced that Kreon rips that only do SSv1 were largely responsible for that last ban wave.
You could only do the write protect hack on the 7 series if you are so inclined, though. You may have been one of those who were miraculously saved from the ban. It all depends on how much time you want to invest in the project.
$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

Call up Microsoft, they will tell you whether it is banned or not. Or try registering the serial at xbox.com/support, if you get service unavailable (error 54400, some number like that) it has been banned or flagged for banning.

Well, "people" say that it is not yet required, and MS isn't looking for it yet. However, those "people" can't say how they know for sure that MS is not doing detection for SSv2.
The only people who probably have a decent idea about that matter, besides the underground peeps we will probably never know about, are Team Jungle and C4e, and they aren't talking about it any more.
There really isn't a whole lot to go on for the last ban wave. All I know is that iXtreme was detectable, and supposedly firmware is still unreadable. That leads me to think that SS info has a lot do to with the whole mess, as there aren't many other suspects at hand.
Just to be safe, I would definitely recommend using SSv2 if you plan on bringing your 360 online.

Yea.... I believe the 7 series is probably banned to. OK so goes the 8v2 series then.
I've been strict on the SSv2, i even write on the disc which SSv it is so i know which to play online or not. And any game i burn now has SSv2 only. That's why i was going with 2 modded ones. Only SSv2 games would get allowed online, the rest are offline only.

No problem at all. Good luck with your ventures.
Since your 7 series is as good as banned anyway, it may not be a bad idea to sell it or trade it for a homebrew-capable system for your offline play. There are definitely a lot of benefits to that for offline play.

Been looking at Jtagging it, but it's still useful right now to me. I used it for offline games/achivements, then move my HD over to the 8 series and let it update my achivements on XBL. Funny because all the people on my friends list call it my magic Xbox because they never see me online but i keep getting more and more achivements :)

Your Lite-On 360 probably won't be able to be JTAG/homebrew hacked anyway. Only 360s that haven't received the August 2009 system update which upgraded the kernel from 7371 (I think) can be homebrew hacked. From what you describe, it sounds as if you probably did apply that update to your 360 already. All 360s that received that patch are, at this point, permanently locked out from access to that awesome 360 upgrade, unfortunately. The way you have it set up is making the best out of it, for sure.
