I have followed the guide and cut the traces. At one point I got chip properties but they weren't proper chip properties. No winbond, etc. I get no drive found and it just sits there forever until it fails. Any tips?

i just did 2 9000 drives,,both did it with the homemade probes,,in jungleflasher the drives never showed,,so i just clicked onto the vendor intro and did the 1 second power cycle twice,,with the probe stuck in the board,,and it showed up,,try that see if it helps,,
P.S.Leerage,,thanks to you,,with those trace cuts pics you have on elitemods,,works great for me,less soldering the better,,

I will see if I can post some pictures. Is it possible I cut too deep? I saw the pic you posted of the hole cut, but what about the traces? If I cut too deep, am I screwed?

I am pretty sure you can't cut too deep... unless you got a hole to the other side. ;)

If you are able to get 0x72 status but the flash chip is unknown, click Intro/Device ID 1 more time and it will become known (MXIC or Winbond/NEX).

I got the unknown a couple of times and now I get nothing. I clicked intro several times and everytime was unknown. I'll get a pic up for you.

I followed this guide Here and just made my own probe, it's really simple, even noob solderers can't do it. I've actually made two of them now and have done at least 50 liteon drives with no problem. I'm not sure about the 93450C drives though, but I've been able to mod every drive I've come across and never had to cut traces. Like i said, 93450 might be different - i dunno.

PSP-modded, ps2 fat-modded w/fliptop and swap magic, PS3-YLoD, DS Lite w/ Acekard 2i, Xbox 360 - JTAGed with no dvd-rom
