Hi , Is it possible to swap a samsung m28 Drive With Another Samsung m28 . I have no fimware saved for either drive , The Broken drive has been flashed but the replacement has not.

if its the same. just swapp the board or even just the laser if thats whats broke.

You are going to have to get the DVD Key from the original drive, so that it will match with the system. If you said the older drive was flashed, if you have the data from that backed up, then you shouldn't have a problem swapping with a different drive. Otherwise the keys with the system and the drive won't match, and will cause problems.

If he swaps the logic board, then he should be fine, but if the whole thing is completely dead, that won't be an option for him.

Thanks guys , The Drive will not open at all , Its not dead so swapping the board should be o.k , Is there a tutorial for this or is it easy

It shouldn't be that hard to do; just removing some wiring and getting it off the old drive, and then putting it on the new drive. Shouldn't be hard at all!

Many Thanks, Forgive me for being a noob but wouldn,t the key be on the flashed drive or can this only be obtained from the first flash

The key is on the logic board, so you shouldn't have to worry.

if it's flashed you should be able to with the spoof ixtreme button in jungleflasher or go thought the process in the tutorals for that drive and pull the key.
