This tutorial will teach you to play PS2 ISO's from any region on any 20GB or 60GB (and the 80GB PS3's that can play PS2 games).
What you'll need #PS3 (that can support PS2 games)
#Controller
#USB Drive or USB External Drive
#Swapmagic 3.6+ or Swapmagic 3.8 (make sure its the same region as the console you have)
#and all other peripherals that you need to make the PS3 work (duh)
Method 1. Firstly I use a Pocket Hard Drive, Imation 80GB, it came pre-ready, but you can follow the next steps to get any hard drive or USB ready, and you can use a PSP in USB or whatever... (do note that I will be using swapmagic 3.6+ so it may be different from other versions)
2. Download the FILE PACK (here) and extract it using WinRAR
3. Open HPFORMAT
4. Install
5. Run it and select your device, then (under File system) FAT32, give it a name (like PS3) tick Quick Format then click start
!NOTE! THIS WILL DELETE ALL DATA ON THE DEVICE, SO MAKE SURE YOU BACK ALL THE DATA UP!NOTE!
6. Now that it is formatted copy the folder SWAPMAGIC and USBINSANE to the device
Not to mention it's more or less a copy-paste from haxnetwork. Or if not from them, then maybe from ps3hack or so.
Nevertheless, I don't think we ever had one of these guides on aD, strangely enough. So kudos for the tutorial.
One thing I should add if it wasn't already stated (I paged through the whole article, you see) is that
this method only works with a select amount of PS2 games. Its compatibility rate is nowhere near as good as the Swap Switch method (or regular ol' Swap Magic on a PS2).
