I have a friend who would like to play dante's inferno. His game is patched to wave 3 and he is stuck in the update loop. I downloaded the $SystemUpdate_Fall09_8955.zip file. I placed the whole folder (contents and all unzipped) on the root of the usb stick, put it in my console, it does nothing when I boot. So, I extracted the contents of the folder to the root of the usb stick (without the root folder) and it still doesnt prompt me to update. Is it not prompting me to update because I am running the new dash already? (Plus im banned). The reason I tried it on mine is so I can make sure it works before I give it to him.

I have a jtagable console here with old dash to test my theory but I dont even want to risk accidentally auto updating it or something so i dont want to test it. Am I doing something wrong?

It will not work for you if you already have the new dash.

also, the flash drive needs to be formatted to FAT32. i didnt see that in your post so i thought i'd mention it.
