According to Sony Ericsson president Bert Nordberg, the company rejected the opportunity to build the Google Nexus One, saying that it did not want to gain a reputation as a subcontractor. After SE turned down the offer, HTC gladly took the chance to manufacture the smartphone. I don't really feel this is anything to announce or brag about. The Nexus could have possibly helped Sony Ericsson

Yep, that's pretty much what I feel here too, and they lost $1 billion and handed over a pink slip to 2000 of its former employees. Gee, I wonder why?
