Here is a quick run down of what I've done int the past several hours:
- Made a Liteon key extractor.
- Extracted keys from Liteon drive.
- Took lens out of new Benq drive that had issues with the drive opening/closing (pretty much, the tray didn't work at all).
- Put the believed to be good lens in a benq drive that had a bad lens.
- Loaded benq FW as source in JF and benq iXtreme FW as target and performed a manual spoof with original Liteon keys.bin and inquiry.bin.
- I got Open tray error with original game disc.
So to test to see if it was my flash or the lens swap, I flashed the benq with my xbox's FW - and I still got Open Tray error. I'm pretty sure the flash is fine...
So my question is, does anyone have any suggestions pertaining to what I have screwed up during the lens swap? I followed this guide: here, as this is the first lens replacement I have done.
So after some tinkering, I've discovered that the drive is reading cds and it "almost" read a dvd or at least acted like it was about to, so I'm going to try to calibrate the pot which was originally at 4.98 and still isn't working at 4.01...
Edit: After getting the pot down to 3.72 the drive seems like it is putting up even less of a fight when it comes to the xbox original... The lens assembly seems likes it's moving around well so I doubt it has to do with the sliding bars or the gear... I'm stumped... It's basically a brand new lens so it should be working fine...
