I'm not sure what's going with my PSP, here's what I did:
My PSP was 5.03 Gen-A and I wanted to update it to 5.50 Gen-B.
So I donwloaded the 5.50 Gen-A file and tried to install it from there.
I don't remember exactly what it said on the screen but what I can see from youtube, you're supposed to see a command saying that you need to press x to continue or L/r to cancel and then it will take you to the sony official download thing.
Well I didn't get that.
I didn't get ANY of those stuff, instead after a few seconds my PSP turned off.
I tried to turn it back on, but all I can see is the orange light (memory stick) glowing for a few seconds (the screen is blank) and then after 10 seconds it just goes off again.
When I had the UMD in the PSP, it makes alot of noise.
I tried to press the R button while turning it back on but no luck.
I just bought a pandora battery (I can't be stuffed making it anymore, I feel depressed!) and I hope that would fix the problem.
Thing is, I'd like to know if I can fix it without the pandora battery..
My PSP is the FFVII anniversary edition (not the japanese version, it's more the australian version).
the psp 2000 on the sticky on here it did say psp's with limited edt cases have trouble modding final fantasy, madden, jax and dexter etc. if you take stick out and umd, hold right shoulder button down and start it do you get into the recovery console? also you have a psp 2000 i guess or am i wrong? 5.03 gens were for psp's that can't be flashed (permanent custom firmware upgrade) 5.50 gens can be put on permanent but shouldn't be tried on motherboards like TA-088v3 motherboards see here http://media.photobucket.com/image/psp%2.../PSP-mobo-1.png question what motherboard did you have in your psp?
