Hi

From what I've read about HDDs with banned 360s:

The HDD on your console when you're banned has the profile, game saves and DLC corrupted.

If I buy a new HDD and put it on the banned 360, will it work? It seems it will if I make a new profile and GT, is that correct?

I'm just finding it hard to determine if a banned 360 is capable of running a HDD without any modifications.

Thank you!

Thought I'd also mention that I bought a new arcade and put the banned console's HDD on it. I recovered my GT and it is working fine along with my DLC and previous game saves. I want to keep it on the new stock 360 and buy a new HDD for the old banned console.

New HDD will work fine. I don't know if it's worth buying one though. Since you can't get on Live, there is nothing to store on a hard drive except game saves which you can just use the memory card that came with the Arcade unit you just bought.

Cool thanks.

I didn't think I'd ever need a HDD for the banned 360 either, then I started coming across games that force you to install (Forza 3 etc).

There's also alot of DLC and XBLA that I want too and I'm about to look into JTAG so it'll come in handy.

I am in the same position... I have one more question to add on to this. If I buy a new a hard drive for my banned xbox 360... could I still use the Install Game function onto the hard drive so I can save some wear and tear on the DVD-Rom Laser?

I currently have a banned xbox arcade.

If I upgrade the console with a hard drive and use a new gamer tag, will I be able to log into xbox live?

i do i erase my info on my xbox arcade internal memory?
