Hiya! ^o^ I'm just wondering what people say on this matter or if anybody even cares... lol
If I was answering this question a few years ago when the PS2 was teeming with RPG's and when Tales Of Symphonia was released on the Gamecube, I would have said JRPG's FTW. Now though, I am more partial towards a western RPG. I know alot of the time western RPG's can be buggy, but they're just so damn good. Love Fallout 3. Love Oblivion. Love Morrowind. Love Dragon Age Origins. Love Divinity 2. Love Risen. Love Venetica. Really wish I played Mass Effect. The last 2 on my list, prob weren't the best games in the world, but i just love that style gameplay... :-D I couldn't wait for Tales Of Vesperia to come out on the xbox 360 in Europe.
I thought it was gonna be the best thing to happen since they discovered that bread was great sliced. Tales of Vesperia, as pretty as it is and as good everyone says it is, I haven't been compelled to complete it yet. Had it since last june when it came out and I'm not even a third of the way through... >.< I'm sure if the JRPG fans out there met me, they'd prob string me up for this, but here goes.... i'm not looking forward to FFXIII............. :-S There I said it and I still seem to be with the living. I have absolutely no interest in it what so ever. I believe FF as a series has had it's day. Don't get me wrong, 13 looks amazing, but after the shambles that 12 was, i don't know...
I guess now it's just a matter of waiting to see if 13 will save the JRPG flame in my heart...
I'm just curious to see what sort of response I get from the people in this forum. lol
So which do you guys prefer? JRPG's or Western RPG's?
I to like western RPG's but I like JRPG's just as much. It just depends on the story for me. If the story is good and it keeps me playing so that I can find out what happens next, that kind of stuff will keep me in a game for a long time. Also, leveling your character, if don't correctly will draw people in, make them feel like they are acomplishing something. I personally am looking forward to FF XIII, that all FF games are good, but the majority of them are.
