I just got a 360 from a friend that has a lite on drive and it has been re flashed.
I do not have the key.
My question: Do I need to use a probe to extract the key again or will i be able to extract it with jungleflasher?
I would also like to flash a spare hitachi I have for this new box. i'm guess if I have the key I can spoof it onto the other drive.

You use this tutorial: Flashed LiteOn
Even though it says flashed 74850C, you should be able to do all flashed LiteOns.

Can I pull the key from my lite on and flash it to my spare hitachi?
Also, how do I power cycle the DVD drive for 1 second? Pull the power plug or cycle the 360?

Yup.

Pull the power plug from the back of the DVD drive for 1 second then plug it back in.

Thank you, you're a great help.
I have a 6421 series PCI board for extra SATA connections, I guess when I install it, i will remove the via drivers in win\sys32.
Going to spoof the hitachi ( it's brand new, my other 360 died in a bad way last weekend) with the lite-on key as well as update the lite-on.
What version , if any, of IXtreme doesn't cause me to use the activate disk?

I'm sure that for the hitachi you can only use 1.51 as they stopped there with that drive. It also depends on whether or not you want to go on XBL after the flash.
Dont even think about how i do this 1 handed... just know i do and i can kick your ass at CoD, Gears, SF, VF .. get the picture *wink*

The Hitachi will stay 1.51 it played everything.
The Liteon doesn't matter as long as it plays everything. The console got banned long ago. I use it for local play and single player only.

Then LT is the fw of choice i'd say as this relies on you making 1:1 copies of the game with no security checks but as you arn't going on live then the quality of the back up isn't that important :)

One more question.
What do I do If my Hitachi is already at IX1.51 . Can I reflash it to 1.51 with the new key or do I need to flash it to stock first then to 1.51.
If so, do I need to flash it to stock with the new 360's key? and is there a way to get a hold of the stock Hitachi 78 FW?

Hey Ize
Well to be honest i'm not too sure about reflashing it back to stock as these drives are tempremental at best and i hate flashing them but in answer to where you can find the original firmware.... it's on xbins and is a zip file that holds every single drive version orig.bin fw file :)

To keep the whole process as sterile as possible i'd reflash the drive to stock first, i think Jungle Flasher has this as an automated option, then reflash with the new key. You will need to spoof it if the hitachi is going into the lite-on 360 :)
