to restore HDD install ? or rather, i guess it would be a workaround the HDD install

You can take out the corrupting data from the NAND to restore it but you cannot JTAG the console to run homebrew.

when did you get banned? guessing that it was recently, you'll probably have the new update and dash which will make your box un-jtaggable.

What if it was banned at dash version 7371 or prior?

if it was banned in this ban wave then you cant JTAG it but if it was banned in an earlier wave you will be fine.
