ok im getting a jtaged console soonish and have some questions about after its jtaged lol
ok lets assume xbr is installed
1) can i just place custom dashboards on the hard drive and xbr boot them? (seems i have this wrong theres no custom dashboards just apps but no mention of were they go how you select the etc)
2) will the dlc on my 360`s hd just work on the new 360 or will i need to do something?
3) any top tips favorite dashboard etc?
4) connecting to live would be fool hardy i know but can i connect to the net for the clock to be reset and to play system link?
5) how does installing games to the hd work? same as nxe but no disc needed after?
6) can you install and run games from a usb hd? (found the answer to this one http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-152/...ged_360-833471/ ) 7) back in the good ol xbox days when you could install games to the hd then ftp into them, you could install mods into your games (perfect example was gta san andras) is that possible now, like using pc dragon age mods on 360 dragon age?
8) i intend to put my 120gig hd from my current 360 onto the jtagged console, how do i remove the update from it so that the jtagged console doesnt get updated past the xploitable dashboard and render the jtag useless?

XBR is the same NXE dashboard, but it's patched to run unsigned code.

Place it in the correct folder and it will just work.

The other dashboards are basically apps. I prefer the NXE dashboard.

I guess you could, but why not just set the clock yourself and you don't need the net for system link.

Yes that's the way I prefer. Install a game or multiple games to HDD as normal. Then run the app "NXE2GOD", and it will patch that game or games to run without the disc.

Yes.

Yes you can. My puberty stricken 14 year-old son has Chun Li & Cammy naked. But I doubt if you can use pc mods.

Not too sure. But I do know that on the underside of the motherboard there is a resistor you can remove. When removed, updating is impossible.
ok so if i understand this correctly XBR is just the exploitable dashboard patched to allow running of unsigned code. this would mean if a game forces you to update or if you plug an hd in with an update already on (say like my hd that has the latest dashbord on it) you would lose the jtag and would then be on a dashboard that no longer supports jtaging?

Yes, remove the $systemupdate folder from all games you copy to your xbox, also there is a resistor that you can remove to write protect the NAND (to be doubly sure)
xbr is at version 8555_3 and is the same dashboard as the most recent games and therefore any of the games already backed up will be fine but future games could be mini timebombs
Now im guessing when a new dashboard comes out, a new version of xbr will be created.
now heres where it gets wierd and where i get confused
if i insert an hd with a update higher then the xbr dashboard then the xbr gets written over with an unflashable dashboard,
BUT
if i want to update xbr i have to get the console rejtagged and the nand wiped then written over with a new version of xbr
so if it can be overwritten by an official dashboard so easy then how come it cant be overwitten by a fake dashboard ? or am i a little confused lol
