my had rrod a while a go and i repaired it by the x-clamp fix method and it worked fine for a while but the same problem came back so i re pasted it and it worked fine for a while again but got the same problem again.was just wondering if i did the heat gun fix would it solve the problem for good or does the problem lie else where

You can't solve the problem for good all you can do is patch it up and take good care of it and wait for it to break down again hopefully it'll last a good while but you never know reflowing is not a permanent solution.

heatgun reflow is the closest thing you can get to a permanent fix short of getting equipment to fix it that would cost much more than another 360. They're only $20 and a lot of people have had lasting success with them: both of my personal systems are coming up on 2 years without RRoD after having done the heatgun fix
