Hoping someone has some ideas/experience with the problem I'm encountering;
I just flashed my drive with the 1.61 firmware through JungleFlasher with the VIA VT6421A chipset, and everything went VERY smoothly (what a change, right?)! In great anticipation, I put in the first disc and... disc read error. Received the "put this DVD in an xbox 360, retard" message. Tried multiple discs, old, new, and torrented. Same message on all of them.
Next, I re-flashed the drive, same firmware, same problem. I figured I'd try an older firmware, and now my computer doesn't recognize my drive anymore (yes, I tried the half-open tray method without success)!!!! AHH!!!
All help is extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
- spoofed the drive such that target and source have the same key
- restart your 360 MULTIPLE times; after restarting about 3 times my drive cooperated fully
