Hi there - first post on AD, nice site. Anyways, I got a 360 from my little brother who flashed it months ago and then lost interest. He told me he used the SATA method, I have determined it's a BenQ drive on an Elite model. I have had success with playing games like GTA IV, Fallout 3, Burnout Paradise, Mirror's Edge, MotoGP 08, Tiger Woods 09, Gears of War 2, Soul Calibur 4 and Shaun White Snowboarding. While I'm excited I can play these "backups", I have had no luck with some newer games I would like to play.
I understand the basics of the wave thing and have read a little about iXtreme firmware but my problem is that I don't know what version is on the drive now and neither does my bro. Is there a way to figure that out? Am I screwed b/c I don't have the drive key?
I have no interest in playing on Live as I use my computer for multiplayer action. I would like to play Assasins Creed 2, Star Wars Force Unleashed, Dante's Inferno and Tekken 6.
From what I've read around the net, I can flash with iXtreme 1.51 and as long as I'm never gonna play online, it will play anything - is that right? For this I need a special PCI sata card and JungleFlasher?
If someone can direct me to the appropriate FAQs or Tut for flashing a BenQ drive or at least how to figure out what FW I have, that would be fantastic...
"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."
