Haven't tried the latest version of Nero but you may need to install the ASPI Layer available on the Nero website.

...jus a thot...

Are you not able to format / erase your RW discs? I've been using the same 5 +RWs since June of '03 and have let Nero do Full and Quick erase them many times.

luck-

I`ve seen people discussing Nero`s Scandisk for checking burned DVDs. I have Nero 6.3.1.10 Ultra and cannot find any Scandisk option. Any help?

At the Nero burning process window, the last step, there should be two check boxes available to you. Scan media and Shut down PC when finished. Scan takes place after the actual burn.

Just what exactly does scandisk in Nero do?

After the disk has been burned, Scandisk will check it (read the whole disk)for read errors. If the media you`ve used was cheap you`ll probablly get some errors. Most of the read errors usually occure near the outter edge of the disk (the last 80-100% of the disk space) as this is the part that is most tricky to manufature (to press the two parts that form the disk together)

Yes, it does. For a full DVD about 6-7 mins. Make sure you tick the Scan option at the last stage before burning your DVD.

My last couple of Dvd's that I burned had pauses before the movie would resume.Could that be the quality of the blanks which are Hyperemedia 4.7g DVD-R 4X or the software?Would like some input on this as I would like to copy lots as I have many friends without the resources that I have. Will gladly return any favors if possible. Thanks

Most likely it is the media. Since I started using Ritek GO4 media I have not had any of the above mentioned problems. I would strongly recommend that you spend a little more on the media and save yourself a lot of frustration. We`ve all been there and learned be try and error. For me A grade Ritek GO4 and DVD Shrink which burns using my Nero`s burning engine work very well indeed and a lot of other guys would agree on this.

Hi, WrongHole. I'm using the latest Nero with DVD Shrink without any problems at all. I'm quite pleased with the burning job the new version of Nero does as a matter of fact.

You might want to check into the latest ASPI available from Nero. It's just a .dll file that overwrites the old wnaspi32.dll in the Nero folder. It might provide more compatibility with your drive if you're using an older version.

I am using only shrink and Nero with out any problems except one. When finished it says there is a copy of the dvd in a folder on the harddrive already decoded. If I want to make a second copy ,how do I do that without shrink trying to decode it a second time. Thanks

The movie in the folder is decoded and if you want another copy of it, Shrink will encode it in order for it to play in a DVD player. Decoded means it is in a raw state, ready to be encoded to a DVD format.
