Not on topic but your link in your sig to flash "all lite on drives" links to the what i thought was just the 9xxx series tutorial.
Can you flash all drives by this method? Surely it would be easier for the 7xxx series to use a probe?

It would be easier to use the probe but you aren't dumping the whole firmware. With the probe you are only getting DVDkey, Serial data, inquiry, identify, etc. Now that full firmware dumps are available, you should be doing that for all virgin LiteOn drives. :)

That makes total sense. I never even though of it like that before.
Thanks for the answer Lee

The extracted wave 5 & wave 6 ISOs are identical in size. Should this be?

I show 76.21 MB compressed for Wave 6 and 76.24 MB compressed for Wave 5. I extracted these myself and then compressed them with WinRAR. I did the entire video partition extraction (253MB) through ABGX360. Logically you would assume wave 6 should be bigger than wave 5 but it isn't the case. Doing a full extraction there is probably some padding and that is why both match up to 253MB.

There's links to the waves 5 and 6 files on abgx360's site now: -
http://www.abgx360.net/download.html
When extracted, they are both smaller than the files linked to in this thread. They're both 173 MB, so either the links here or the links there are not pointing to the correct files.

If you choose the option "Extract entire video partition", it will come out 253MB. If you don't, it will come out around 173MB. I'm guessing it is some extra padding.

Cool, that explains it. If you compare them, the CRCs match.
