hi i was just curious as to what files and folders exactly do games come in. so i took one of my back up games, and wrote it as a .bin file to my hard drive, and all i could get out of it was a folder with a few files in it, one being the "to play this game you must put it in an xbox 360 console"... i tried a few different programs to extract the files farther but it didnt help. im sure the games are encrypted in some way but i wanted to try and see if i could get anywhere. ultimately my goal is to be able to see all the different codes that go into the makings of a video game although im sure this is highly unlikely to happen. if anyone could help me get any farther in seeing any of the other 7 gigs of the game it would be much appreciated.

oh and also if anyone knows if it can possibly be done with any other system other then the xbox 360...

Your problem is that you are only reading the DVD files on the xbox, a normal PC drive cannot read 360 DVD game content. You will need a XBOX DVD drive or a Kreon (no recommended) drive for that.

If you are just curious and want to take a look at the actual files, why don't you download a ISO & extract it with Xbox Backup Creator.

thank you so much!!!! its exactly what i wanted but now i have one more question. is there any way in which i could see the programming source code of the games? im pretty sure this is going to be a no but its worth a try

Maybe some kind of hex editor...but doing it that way I doubt you would get the outcome you're looking for.
