What is the best programme to save DVDs to a hard drive? I want to save my home DVDs as well as some commercial DVDs (music)as a back up. I have an external hard drive of 1 TB
Decrypting is not an isue- I use DVD Fab 6, but should I save the DVD as a VideoTS file or convert to ISO?
1. is it purely for backup, or will you be accessing the files on the hard drive using a media player of some sorts?
2. Do you care about space saving? Quality preservation?

Someone has suggested to save it as an ISO image and use IMG Burn.
Yes, in this case use DVDFab and rip the movies as an ISO to your hard drive. If you want to burn to a disc, you can use ImgBurn, if you want to watch them directly from your external hard drive, you can use VLC player.
