If its the key that gets displayed when flashing in jungleglasher, I have them all backed up in a file? Not all is lost yet then!!

It's pretty hard to brick a Ben-Q. Are you absolutely sure it's dead? But yes, you can use any Ben-Q or even spoof your key on any other drive. HOWEVER, only Lite-On drives with Lite-Touch firmware are supposed to be safe enough for XBOX LIVE.

"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

the benq drive would not read firmware and now i cant even eject the drive, plus my xbox 360 is flashing up the one red light. xbox is already banned from live. am i able to spoof my key to any drive then not just the benq? i have a spare lite on drive i could use if this is the case.

thanks again

I don't think you can brick a BNQ not ejecting could just mean the FW is deleted hope you got the key off it first. Also the drive has nothing to do with E74 1 red light is that the error you have ?

AH crap, might be out of luck then, i applied the x clamp fix, and it was working fine etc. Its only since the drive stopped working the light has came on. Might just be a coincidence then. Might just be knackered lol. Ye i got the key off the drive already though. Maybe the firmware is deleted lol. Don't know how to fix that though!

If the firmware is deleted completely could that cause the light to come on?

I don't think i explained very well. I had 3 red rings ages ago and left the xbox. I then applied the x clamp fix yesterday and got it working again.

The problem was after this because i attempted to spoof the drive from this xbox a while ago with a new key for another xbox console. Which failed. So last night, i tried to spoof back to the old key to make it work with the one i just fixed but was having loads of problems trying to do so. I think i then pressed erase firmware to try and clear it. It froze the pc, at which point my drive now dusnt open lol. THEN the one red light started appearing.

So i'm guessing i screwed the drive firmware up and may need help later tonight trying to fix the damn thing.

Jamie

Ok so i got home and tried to see how i got on with benq. No red light appearing at the moment, but the drive is undetected by jungleflasher and as i stated before does not eject?

Any thoughts on this?

You're probably going to have to use dosflash to flash the drive. Seems to me like you just erased the firmware from the drive. As you mentioned, you have the drive key, so all is not lost. There are tons of tutorials on here as well as youtube if you need a video. When there is no firmware on the drive, it won't eject. After you flash your drive with dosflash, you'll notice the drive ejects again :) Good Luck!

Ok, wow, that was easy. I have always used jungleflasher but, dosflash was the easiest thing ever. Ive restored 1.4 ixtreme for now and it works like a dream. Yay, I can sleep well tonight. Thanks for everyones input. I am much relieved right now

Glad to hear you got it working. I would watch out for that for that single red light as you will probably encounter that again...at least in my experience they've come back randomly. They're usually pretty easy to fix though...usually just have to tighten the screws a bit. Good luck.
