Ok time i break down and purchase a 360. Final fantasy 13 is about to be released. I Always had PS but I will not own a unit that I can not mod so by PS for now. (I must play FF13.)
1.. Ok Sorry about this post but was wondering if the sticky on modding a 360 is up to date? Need info on soft moding or can i buy a premod unit online. All the sites i seen look old and out of date still asking like $600 for basic system.
2. Thinking of getting a used one from ebay for around $150 or so and wondering if there is a certain year or model I need to mod it. Will this years model be the same as a 3 year old model? Or Does it not really matter and all of them can be soft moded.
3. I can solder if only a few wires ( i do not want to solder 15 wires) but was thinking soft mod is the better way. I am not really worried about live sine i have no interest playing any thing over the net. That's what my pc is for. Only games I play on console is devil may cry , final fantasy, last remnant. those types of games.

Well the more research i do the more lost i get. I am looking for something like take out of box then play. I have found this " XBox 360 Pro Console Modified includes ixtreme LT Firmware" for about $260 wondering if this is any good?

I also came across this XECUTER BLASTER 360 and seems easy to install but it seems like this device just lets you flash the system externally. Am I right about this and/or if this is not needed, how often do you have to flash the system. Looks like i will be spending a fortune to play ff13. but I also think the media expander seems cool.

Think about it: $200 for a stock arcade, or $60 more for the modded system you want.

Sounds like a modchip.ca ad to me. You can buy an Elite new for $300, open it, remove the drive, send the drive to someone like wabashman to get it flashed.

It's not needed. But......... another feature of it is to let you rip games to your PC to burn.

Just find a used one (with HDMI) and get someone on here to flash it for you. You'll spend about $175 total. That small fortune will give you access to the most fun you've ever had on a console, and make you forget about your BS3.

Good idea about the elite system. You can get them all day long with a 120 hard drive for about 150 or so on ebay.
So am i understanding this right? Does the hard drive need to be flashed? I thought the system itself had to be flashed like the bios? So other words I just need to buy any elite system and send in the hard drive to get set up then put back in unit then ready to play or is there more to it than that? With my old ps2 i just had to solder a few wires and a chip and i was good to go. The ps2 slim was even easier for me to do.
I have seen many sites that have a flashing service and I am sure there are a few here that have a flashing service so if that is all i need to do and does not matter what 360 system I will purchase one in a few hours and get started on this.
Since this will be a soft mod. Do i still need action replay and swap disk like the ps2? or will the games boot directly? if for some reason I get banned can it be unbanned or just trash it? I am not interested in playing online (that is what my m17x alienware is for) just want to play a few games.
Do i just burn games like I do with the old ps2. Download img file and burn or is there other steps for say stealth mode that i keep hearing about?
Sorry for all the questions. I know they have been asked and answered many times but the more i search on this the more question i get lol.
