I have a falcon xbox that had E74 so I replaced the x-clamps on the GPU and got it to work, a week later it went again with E74 and every time it went I just had to adjust the screws to get it back, until yesterday the adjustment triggered E73 and it hasn't booted at all since trying different washers etc. Has anyone got any suggestions?

penny fix doesnt fix broken solder either. It may let you make enough of a connection to play (but then again probably wont since it's on the ram and the break is likely under the gpu or hana), but even if it did, the connection is still broken and likely building up oxidation thus making it harder to fix when the rrod comes back

Thanks, I might try the penny fix since it's already not working but I'll try to find someone with a heatgun and give it a try.

Good video by the way.

I'll try to get my hands on a heatgun, I have another falcon too that won't power on because of broken solder under the southbridge so the heatgun could probably revive that too.

It probably will. They're only $20 too so they're well worth it

You might get another month or 2 out of a heatgun method. Falcons and xenons are just junk. Be nice if M$ gave everyone a jasper when you sent it in. If the case isn't too bad, why not just send it in? Put all the originals back on of course. Then it's fixed right.

Wrong again dude, I have one for about a year myself, ive done lots of others with no returns (unlike the xclamp fix alone).

I haven't come across a heatgun yet but will, it's still E73 now and i'm thinking of just buying a heatgun to have it for repairs.

I should be getting a heatgun tomorrow, is there anything I need to know about the process (avoiding popping caps etc.) Just to know since I never done it before.

you can cover the plastic and caps with foil if you want but as long as you keep it moving you should be fine. Just do the timings and the components how I do in the video

Ok Thanks. I'll give it a try tomorrow.

So it's 1 minute on low on the bottom moving it all around, then 4 minutes on high on the top while focusing and moving around the CPU, GPU, HANA, Southbridge, and RAM chips. Then optionally another minute on low around the same components to slightly cool it. That's right yeah?

Also how far about should you hold it back like 2-3 inches?

Yep you've got it. I hold it about 3 inches away. Then just let it cool for 30+ minutes and reapply your x-clamps with 1 washer without drilling or 3 washers with drilling and you should be good to go. It's really easy :)

Thanks. If it all goes well I'll start using this method for repairs, this is a very stubborn E73 though but the heatgun might succeed, and if so it'll be great and I should of tried it about 5 dead xbox's ago lol.

I done it and now it gets rrod but there's no secondary code when i check it delays and gives 0 and i keep pressing eject and it stays on 0 and sometimes changes to 1 then eventually after a lot of presses back to rrod. What does that mean?

Yeah it's 3 red lights with a weird secondary code, maybe the southbridge needs another attempt.

well the timing is pretty important but then again that one is hotter than mine. How long did you do it for?

1 on low on the bottom, about 4 on high on the top (should've done it to the exact minute) and another minute on low on the top. I have nozzles for the gun if it makes a difference like a thinner one for more focus.

Does anyone know what that error means, If I hold sync and press eject I get 0, If I hold sync and press eject twice I get 1, If I hold sync then hold eject it goes back to 3 red lights again.
