Google has announced its acquisition of DocVerse, a technology company that allows people to edit Microsoft Office in the cloud. The question is: Why on earth would anyone want to use Microsoft Office? The wordpad that comes with windows 7 works better than word, and the Openoffice spreadsheet program is far better than excel...about the only thing office does well is powerpoint...and that is just a glorified slideshow creator.

don't forget OpenOffice will play those slideshows for you.... less the security flawed linking..... the DEFCON 1 security breach that Microsoft wouldn't fix because it is a "Feature"
