So I softmodded my Wii back when the bannerbomb exploit was discovered.

Used an IOS checker to see what I have. It says I have Trucha Bug, and Flash Access, but no Boot2 Access, or USB 2.0 IOS Tree. Running IOS 36 (rev 1042).

So what do I need to do to be able to run an external USB HDD for homebrew/backups? And how do I install MotionPlus compatibility?

Have a look at the softmodding guide located below that will allow you to update to the latest 4.2 firmware.
