alright so what happened is that i told my friend id flash his xbox for him, so i thought id use dosflash coz ive had freezing problems b4, but not a usb stick to be found, so i thought id use jf 1.7 coz i just downloaded it and heard it wont freeze up, so i tried it, the process couldnt have gone smoother, but when i tested it, 3 red lights came up, and i assume that worried the fuck out of my friend watching, i didnt look at the screen, i assumed e64, dvd drive error, but now when i try to test it, everything comes up but the drive dont work, no eject or nothing, is this an easy fix with a new flash

when you tested it, it is possible you just plugged the power wire back incorrectly. that can cause the 3 red lights to come up, but you just need to make sure to plug it the right way to fix it.

right now ur drive has no firmware, so it won't eject, but you can still fix it.

the way i fixed my bricked lite-on a while back was following this:

Quote:
Go ahead and save your custom firmware. Make a bootable USB drive: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8CH4INME. Put your custom bin on it. Plus DosFlash16 and L-O-ERAS.exe. DosFlash16 has 2 files in it (dosflash.exe and dosflash.typ).

1. Boot to USB drive and type l-o-eras.exe XXXX (XXXX is your SATA port number your lite-on is connected too). Keep doing that til you get status FF72
2. Type dosflash.exe It should list your Lite-ON (the flash chip will be MXIC or Winbond/NEX)
3. Select the corresponding number to your Lite-ON.
4. Type W for write. Type the name of your ix1.6 bin. (example: Lite_CFW.bin)

It should go ahead and write the firmware to the Lite-ON.
I did it a loooong time ago though, I'm sure there's a newer way of doing it

Uh, you know if you plug that in upside down that the drive is completely fried right?

If you unplug the drive, do you still get RROD? I have had a few box's that have just happened to RROD when flashing due to "disturbing" the heatsinks.

nope! lol.

i mean, it's definitely very possible the drive would get fried, but for me 3 red lights just came up. i was like OMG and then i rectified the situation. my lite-on worked fine for about 6 or 7 months before i got banned from live, and then stopped playing.

ERM. when you opened up your xbox, and broke open that little white square sticker, you voided the warranty already. unless you somehow saved the sticker in good condition, i guess.

But is it e64 as you have not looked at the screen. As i have said, I have RROD on 2 xboxs after flashing (normal RROD not e64) and had to heatgun to fix. Is the e64 error on the screen and does it still happen if you drive is unplugged?
