Are all RRoD problems fixable?

I wanted to know because im getting a rrod'd xbox360 on craigslist for 60 bucks and wondering if all RRod errors are fixable.

Id say about 80-90% are fixable. You can get a good idea from the secondary error code.

Also, you can get them off ebay cheaper than that (unless it comes with all leads & a controller)

First thing you should do is check to see if you can simply send it to microsoft to get it repaired. I suggest finding someone near you who you can pay $5 or $10 to take a look at the inside of your 360 to make sure everything is good for when you send it to microsoft. The rrod fix is free from microsoft and they give you a one month xbox live. You might have to wait a few weeks for the whole process, but it's worth it.

Good point, i have a few that I have bought still in warranty. Still fixed them myself anyway as they were bought for the intention of JTAGing.

How do you know if a 360 is still in warranty?

How long warranties do they have?

you can enter your information online at xbox and I believe they tell you if its still covered

They give an extra 3 years warranty for rrod.

Is there a quicker way then? 3 years from the date of manufacture on back?

Yes unless you have a receipt to prove it was purchased at a later date.

$60 is way too much. It's worth the extra money to buy a new box for as much as these break. A new box will have a jasper! ;)

Plus, you don't know what the PO did to the box. Not all boxes are repairable. The guys that try and fix it do the crappy xclamp or heatgun which will give it a month or two more life.
