what is the best way to repair E74? I see on yotube there is that towel way and a over heat way about stop the fan from moving, but I am not sure what is the drawback to those action.
and I also see ppl say buying about a 30 dollar xbox fix guide, or online stuff that require payment.
There's no way to fix it once and for all. The towel trick or overheat trick are the worst choices it will die soon afterwards. A proper reflow with a station if the best way but that is not a permanent fix either if your lucky you'll get another year out of your xbox. If you use one of those other tricks you'll get a month out of it.
The best option for you would be the either a proper reflow or the heatgun method combined with the xclamp fix and a bit of liquid flux. I have been fixing xboxs with the latter method for some time now and haven't had an issue yet (except from melting eject / sync buttons).
Do not do the towel trick, it will cause more damage to your xbox and actually make the reflow process harder.
