Hey guys,

I read somewhere that if your 360 gets banned you lose the ability to

1) play games off the hard drive
2) install games to a hard drive

is this true?

what else gets disabled?

also, what causes game profiles to be corrupted?

thanks

Yes this is true. If you do try to sign in and you are banned, you will lose the feature of installing games to the hard drive.

It can be fixed though, you have to dump the NAND and can use a program called FindSecData to fix the problem.

I had the same questions. also i would like to add these questions.

1. Can you delete your games and saves from your hard drive , get online and still get banned?
2. What are the factors on getting banned? I am not planning on playing online but i just do not want to get banned in-case i need some type of update or something later on.

Deleting your games and saves will probably not save you from a ban. It is highly debated that the 360 logs all your activity and then uploads it to M$ when you get online. I have yet to see convincing data but I thought I'd mention it none the less.

Nobody really knows the factors in what causes a ban. You must accept the fact that running modified firmware at any point of the 360's lifespan, you run the risk of getting banned from XBL. It is recommended if you get online to receive and update, flash stock firmware to the drive and then apply the update.
