My Issue: It says "Play Game" then I get: Unrecognized Disc/Disc is unreadable
Xbox360 Firmware/Drive: 1.51/Hitachi
Laptop/DvdRw+DL: HP Pavillion dv6000/Pioneer dr-kd08
Discs: Verbatim 2.4-6x (Singapore) dvd+r dl
OS/Software:Vista 32bit/ Imgburn latest
Source: Internet
What I've Tried: burned at 2.4x,4x, different games ( Bioshock 2, AVP, Assassins creed 1) Verbatim/Memorex DVD+r dl's, searched google/forums for solution, stealth patching using abgx360 at level 2 & 3
Successful burns: Ive had copies made from a third party and all games work perfectly to this day including: assassins creed 1, CODMW 2, Halo ODST/ 3 ect. He used Sony discs. He's now unavailable/I'm trying to do it myself.
My Xbox360 is banned - all games still work
The only idea I have is to update my burners firmware but I'm unable to find it. This post is my last resort guys I'm all out of ideas.
Here's the Imgburn Log:

I can't see anything that isn't correct, once you burn it have you ran the disc through abgx to make sure all the data is still right?

It could be a booktype problem. Check to make sure that the burned discs show up as DVD-ROM.

-Yes I ran it through agbx360 and everything checks out. Can it be how I'm stealth patching the games that can cause this?
-I compared one of my burns to my third party's burns and they seem identical in Imgburn and My Computer info. I'm not sure how to correctly check if its DVD-ROM or not but I did compare my burn to a successful one and they look exactly the same.
-I can't set the booktype cuz its a pioneer and I can't find firmware update so It could be that..
-It might be bad media? thats prob a small chance though

If you have a laptop, which I see you do, you need a dvd burner that will go in that, or you need an external one. You can buy an enclosure and put either of those in it and use it.

I also have a Desktop and so I'll buy a dvd drive for it. The only reason Im using my laptop now is because it came with the DVD+RW DL burner. But if i have to buy a new one it will be for my Desktop PC. Did you check out those links? Which would you recommend?

Well if you have SATA on your computer then I would get the second one. It's a good price on a pretty good burner and it's SATA which will burn faster than IDE will.
If you don't have SATA get the first one hands down, I have that burner in the SATA form and it works fine. Haven't had a single coaster using cheap media.

hi mate,
My pioneer 216d sata recently started giving me bad burns. At first I blamed the media as I moved from Aones to Arita discs. But after upgrading and flashing the firmware from pioneers main website everything is fine now.
As advised make sure your on the most up to date firmware for your writer and also for your burning software. I use Imgburn.
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/P.../DVR-216D?tab=F
I grabbed my updates from the USA Pioneer site as they are always more upto date than the UK for some reason. Plus I don't really trust third party driver providers without looking at the maufacturers support pages first.
Hope you get it sorted. Good Luck
Ste
Banned on iX1.5 Liteon. Currently wants to buy a new xbox but does not understand how all this flashing works and will not pay £40 to get this xbox flashed again.

Will that firmware update work with my burner even though its for a different model?

Unless you find out 100% for sure don't try it, it can easily brick your drive.

WOW! :) Im proud to say... first successful burn!! after lots of headaches I finally got to smile.
First of all new egg is the sh#$! I ordered the Liteon ihas124 yesterday at 9am, got it today at 3pm! shipping was $1.99 - 2 day ground + I added rush processing $2.99. Got it with very good packaging. Also got verbs w/ it. Popped it in my Desktop, Burned at 4x, smiled...
What did i change: Burner, Desktop (instead of laptop), new verbatims.
What i didn't do: Update liteon firmware, Set booktype to dvd-rom, update imgburn, burn at 2.4x.
My Guess: Either burner burns better over all or my desktop delivered better power than laptop.
Differences I noticed: The only difference i noticed was; The buffer was very constant at full speed on the desktop. The buffer on the laptop would drop every so often (maybe due to power settings in vista on laptops) and maybe causing a bad burn. Other than that everything else was the same (except for discs but i highly doubt they were the cuprit).
Heres the imgburn log for successful burn:
