I know the best place to ask this would be http://www.xboxscene.com/, but they are down for me so..
Anyway, I just have a few questions in regards to this and I am hoping someone can throw me some answers.
My Xbox360 is currently flashed with iX 1.6, and I went to play a backup of Final Fantasy XIII and all I got was "Play DVD" to come up. Now, this could be a bad burn, or something, but after looking around I think I would need iX 1.61 and the activate disk to play it? Is this correct?
Considering iX LT is the newest Firmware out, I was obviously going to flash with that one. This was until I read that if you have a 748 revision, you will no longer be able to flash it without soldering.. (Is this correct?)
I don't play online. I planned on flashing my drive to stock, downloading whatever updates are there (Provided I am not banned) and then flashing to LT, however, this soldering thing has me worried. Is there a chance I will run into another situation with LT where I need to update the firmware to play a game? Or for someone like me (Who doesn't go online) is the LT the last flash needed?
(I've NEVER soldered anything in my life, and I live in a small location so there isn't anyone handy who would be able to assist me).
To summarize:
What version of iX do I need to play Final Fantasy XIII (1.61?)
Will iX LT be the last Firmware for a non-online gamer?
Should I even bother to flash back to stock?

Thank you! I knew about the Wave 6 issue, but at the same time because I went cheap and used a Memorex disk figured it coulda been a bad burn, also.
Think it's worthwhile for me to flash back to stock first, and update?
Another thing, wouldn't I need to solder to update past LT?
Say they come with out iX LT 2 or w/e, given that I would have LT, I still wouldn't need to solder?
Or is it simply you only need to solder to get the Key.bin ect? (which I already have)

If you plan on playing online, I would flash stock, update, then flash iX LT. You might check your dashboard version before you update on Live. If it is 2.0.7371.0 or lower, you have a JTAGable 360.

The only reason soldering would be involved is if you are dumping the full firmware for the first time. Once you have the firmware, you never have to solder again.

Nope, it is all software once you have the firmware.

Since you already have the key, you are fine.

So after all those questions, I managed to brick my Liteon. LAWL.
Clicked LiteOn Erase, turned off my Xbox 360 (This is how I flashed the others) wouldn't come back on right away, had to wait like 30seconds, then computer hanged.
Left it there, 4 minutes later I get the Flash Chip properties to pop up, but computer freezes again, then shuts down.
Now my Xbox 360 has the flashing green light (And, if hooked up to TV, one red ring flashing and E64)
Oi Vey.
Drive doesn't eject, so I am guessing I erased the firmware and couldn't write the hacked one on it, leaving it empty...
Any fixes for this, or am I SOL?

Google "fix jungleflasher freezing" and try again. It just happens sometimes, but lite-ons cant be bricked so you're lucky!
